Terms of service

Gaugelog is a business service. By creating an account you accept these terms on behalf of the company you work for, and you confirm you are allowed to do that. The data processing agreement and the privacy policy are part of the agreement.

• Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Give us accurate account and billing information and keep it current.
• Users are unlimited on every plan and read access is free, so give each person their own login rather than sharing one.
• Account admins control who has access to your company's register and can remove users at any time.

Gaugelog is calibration management software: an instrument register, calibration records and certificates, due-date alerts, import and export.

Equally important is what it is not. Gaugelog records and reminds; it does not calibrate your instruments, and it does not calculate measurement uncertainty. Using Gaugelog does not by itself make you compliant with ISO 9001 or any other standard. Calibration decisions, intervals and acceptance criteria remain your responsibility.

• Pricing is by the number of instruments in your register. Per gauge. Never per seat.
• The Free plan is free for real, up to its instrument limit, no card required.
• Paid plans are billed through Stripe, monthly or annually, in USD. Prices are shown exclusive of tax.
• Where we are required to collect VAT or sales tax, it is calculated at checkout from your billing address and shown before you pay. Business customers in the EU can enter their VAT number at checkout for the correct cross-border treatment.
• No hidden fees. Ever.

• Cancellation is self serve in the billing portal. No email required, no call to sit through.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you already paid for; after that the account moves to the Free plan and your data stays intact and exportable.
• If the register holds more active instruments than the new plan includes after a downgrade or cancellation, the account is over capacity: viewing and every export keep working, while changes to the register and due reminders pause until you archive instruments below the plan's limit or upgrade again. Nothing is deleted.
• We do not refund the remainder of a started billing period, monthly or annual. The trade for that is the Free plan: try the product properly before you pay.
• If we billed you in error, or a charge lands after you cancelled, write to us and we refund it.
• Upgrades take effect immediately; Stripe prorates the difference for the rest of the period. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.

The data your company puts into Gaugelog is yours. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the data processing agreement. Cancel anytime, export everything: your register, calibration history and activity log export as CSV, and every certificate downloads as PDF, on every plan, including Free.

• Use the service only for lawful purposes.
• Do not attempt to break, probe or overload the service, or to access data that is not yours.
• Do not resell the service or offer it to third parties as your own.
• Do not upload content you have no right to store, or content designed to harm the service or other users.

We work to keep Gaugelog available around the clock, but these terms do not promise a specific uptime level, on any plan. Planned maintenance is announced in advance when it affects you.

Support is by email at hello@gaugelog.com. We read everything and answer as fast as a small team honestly can.

We own the software; you own your data. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the product without owing you anything, and without ever claiming your data.

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability under this agreement is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

You can cancel at any time in the billing portal; your data stays exportable until the end of the paid period and through the deletion routine described in the privacy policy. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, with notice and a chance to fix the problem where that is reasonable.

We may update these terms. For material changes we notify account owners by email at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, cancel before they take effect and export your data.

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are resolved by the Norwegian courts, with the district court for Gaugelog's registered office as the agreed venue.
